DANIEL EDWARDS

Edwards seeks to explore contemporary themes within postmodern society, and pays particular attention to the theme of identity and the mass media. He extracts ideas and inspiration from conversations, written material, magazines and online sources.
Often he references the writings of social theorist and political commentator Jean Baudrillard, extracting words and phrases from many of his, and other published books, which are then translated into multimedia artworks. “Throughout the research I conduct, I allow my ideas to flourish and develop through conversations and observations, allowing the opportunities for unanticipated, unpredicted works to be created amongst the process. I am fascinated with the contrast between historical and contemporary, using historical quotes from Baudrillard, and translating them into fresh modern contemporary artworks”. |
